Speakers

The following key note speakers have been asked to speak on the theme of 'searching for reality'.


Title "The Elusive Nature of Reality"

Karla Cryer -
Master of Arts, Psychology. She is a NSW registered psychologist with 23years experience in the area of alcohol and other drugs abuse and rehabilitation. She worked in group homes for young offenders; then establishing groups and individual programs for a community centre in Vancouver; has worked for Maitland Women’s Centre, Department of Corrective Services and Vietnam Veterans Counselling Service. She has been lecturing in psychology and offering adult education courses both overseas and in Australia for many years.

Hartmut Borries- Born in Celle, north Germany, in 1961. After completing school he studied at the priest seminary of The Christian Community in Stuttgart, then joined a peace organisation working in Rotterdam, Holland. After living for some months in Japan, he was ordained in 1992 and sent to Bielefeld, north Germany. From there he went first to Sydney and then to Melbourne, Australia. In 2001 he took on responsibility for the work of The Christian Community in Australia and New Zealand, becoming 'Lenker' for the region.

Paulo Moraes-
a Brasilian-trained General Practitioner registered in Victoria since 1989. He underwent the RACGP family medicine’ training between 1989-1994. Since 1993 he has been working in the Centre as a GP integrating complementary medicine with conventional medical practice. He has an interest in integrating Anthroposophic and Nutritional Medicine in his practice of family medicine, child health and palliative care. Paulo has also an interest in ‘biographic medicine-counselling’ which was a component of his year’s certificate of the CSD-Emerson College, UK (1985-86). ‘Biographic counselling’ is a component in the practice of Anthroposophic medicine and helps people to find understanding and meaning in their illnesses while working with physical, artistic and creative therapies. Paulo is a founding member of the Australian Anthroposophic Medical Association in 1995. He is a medical representative of AAMA in the board of the Australian Integrative Medicine Association. Dr Paulo Moraes has recently completed training towards a certificate in Primary Care Skin Cancer Medicine.
