Jump, International Youth Conference, Melbourne, Australia
July 5th - 10th 2009
From and about the preparation team:

"Hi, I have been involved with the Sydney youth group for a year and that has rewarded me with strong friendships and a place to say my thoughts. JUMP youth conference is an exciting event that I’m keen to go to as I have been helping with the preparation of the Conference itself." – Ben. "I’ve been helping to organise JUMP international youth conference which is taking place in Byron Bay next July. I’m living in Sydney at the moment as I am in year 10 at the Conservatorium of Music High School which is joined with the University for Music. I’ve been going to the Christian Community since I was 5 when my parents were introduced to it via the Rudolf Steiner School in South Devon, England. It’s been really exciting organising this conference, and I can’t wait til I see you all next July." – Bethan. "Hey! I’m 21 years old and I grew up in Canberra as well as travelled overseas several times. As a young person with some experience of youth events, I’m really excited to be hosting JUMP here is Australia. There’ll be loads of other people and interesting things on. It’s going to be Awesome." – Stefan Nekvapil "Hello! I am involved with the Sydney Christian Community and attend Glenaeon Steiner School. When I heard of the 2009 Conference, I was really excited with the idea and I felt lucky to be involved in the preparation team. After the combined meeting in Melbourne, I discovered I was in for a fun time!" – Theodore. "I support the International Youth conference as it brings so many wonderful people together to have a good time, experience great moments, and perhaps meet some friends for life. With so many different and interesting people coming together; I can only imagine that good things will come. Bring on ‘JUMP 2009’ yeah wooo! " "I think the most exciting part of the youth conference is that it is international and open for anyone from around the world. It will be wonderful to be involved in such a valuable and fun time next July and I have no doubt that everyone who attends the conference will gain something new to take home with them. Be it new knowledge, an experience of this beautiful country, or the formations of friendships from people who perhaps live on the other side of the world." - Sophia
"I have a really good friend who when she first came to live in Australia washed her feet in the sink. Apparently, that is a common custom in her country. It is not a common custom in Australia and my friend had to explain the custom to her housemates. I believe that any event bringing people together to experience a different culture is a wonderful space. People are able to learn and share with one another in a non-threatening way. When I first heard about the International Youth Conference I immediately thought about what I could do to be of service. I am a lawyer and an accountant and I bring to the organising committee my knowledge and experience so that a wonderful space can be created for the youth of the world to share."- Stephen “Hello! I am 22 and live in
"Oh G’day beautiful people. My name’s Dana and I am ace, so you should come to the conference to meet me. I got involved with the International Youth Conference through Hilary. Hilary and I met at the beginning of last year when we both began studying Liberal Arts. Hilary asked me to come on a ‘holiday’ to New Zealand with her, so I thought why not...holidays are always fun. Little did I know what I had gotten myself into? I soon realised when we were stumbling through the mountains of NZ stinking like hairy cave women. So when Hilary asked me to be a part of the organising team for the conference in Australia I was a bit hesitant, thinking back to New Zealand. But then again everything turned out fine and we survived New Zealand, it now being one of my fondest memories and best time of my life. So, in turn, why wouldn’t I survive the makings and happenings of a conference? So here I am a part of a fantastic team of enthusiastic and intelligent people, helping Veronica and Sune reach their dream, which I now share as my own dream too." - Dana Pyne
"I am involved in Jump conference because my passion is to be inspired and to see others the same! What an opportunity it has been to be a part of an enthusiastic team experiencing what it is to search, to seek, to explore my reality of being alive at this time, and to learn about others. I am currently studying the foundation course in Anthroposophy in Sydney, NSW. I'm looking forward to meeting you and hearing your story" – Kimberley Hammerton.
